This is an enemies to lovers story but in reality is more of a story about humanity, selflessness, survival, hope, and love. She proves that again with Ripple Effect. Bengtsson has a way of turning ripped from the headlines moments into gut wrenching, heartfelt, emotional love stories that are unlike any other. I don’t even know where to start with this review so I’ll start by saying that J. Ripple Effect was an extraordinary, captivating, and unique love story and absolutely one of my favorite books of 2021. I was mesmerized by the depth of this story, the flawless writing, and the emotional connection between the two main characters. Nothing short of an act of nature could repair the relationship between these two strong-willed enemies. But when his solo career flops, RJ retreats to a no-frills apartment where he can hide out from the world and lick his festering wounds.īut when the girl next door starts slipping 'good neighbor' contracts under his door and complaining about his behavior through strategically placed Post-it-Notes, RJ snaps out of his self-absorbed melancholy to wage war. When his mega-famous boy band AnyDayNow breaks up, international pop star RJ Contreras strikes out on his own.
